THERADE: Innovative Technologies for Radiations

The International Center for Advanced Studies and Research in Innovative Technologies for Radiations, Applied to Environmental Monitoring, Cultural Heritage, and Health Risks, named THERADE, was established by Rector’s Decrees of the University of Salerno (26.02.2024, Rep. No. 494/2024 and 08.04.2024, Rep. No. 931) among the following Founding Institutions:

The administrative headquarters of the THERADE Center is located at the University of Salerno.

Mission

The Center was established within the framework of research competencies and joint collaborations already developed by the associated universities, with the mission to pursue sustainability and innovation across all its activities, along with the following objectives:
  • Conducting basic and applied research in the field of innovative technologies for radiations, applied to environmental monitoring, cultural heritage conservation and protection, and health risk assessment, through the interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary contributions of applied physics, information technology engineering, civil engineering, environmental and earth sciences, life and health sciences.
  • Designing advanced sustainable education programs to bridge technological gaps in innovation for a sustainable environment and well-being, as well as addressing the gender gap, particularly in developing and emerging countries.
To achieve these goals, the Center aims to promote and coordinate:
  • A broad international network of excellence that, starting with the affiliated institutions, involves other research groups beyond disciplinary and geographical borders, aiming for progress and excellence in research to contribute to societal growth, well-being, and development.
  • Sustainable advanced education projects, also in collaboration with a wide international network of scholars and researchers.
  • Initiatives for the transfer of knowledge and technological innovation, to support decision-making processes of public and private institutions in the countries of the associated and affiliated institutions.
